About This Event:

This Keynote presentation is free for all attendees. The purpose of the event is for Zack to aquire new video and images of his talk in front of a live audience. We are inviting all military members (past and present) and professional athletes (and respective family members) as a way to give back to the community. This keynote breaks down what it takes to turn life's major transitions into everlasting transformation.

Keynote Description:

Members of the Military and elite athletes share a similar pride and passion for the uniform they wear. It often defines who they are. Unfortunately, for most, there has been little to no time to focus on what comes after their service or sport. Unforeseen setbacks like injury or early retirement could bring one question into focus much sooner than they ever expected...

"Who am I outside of the uniform?"

For more than 50% of veterans and athletes, the answer is the same: loss of identity, uncertainty and depression.

This inspiring talk pulls from Zack's 15 years of research in injury recovery, mental health, and redefining one's purpose during a major life transition. Navigating this next season can be dark and depressing or it can be hopeful and inspiring. By utilizing lessons learned from his own suicidal-to-success story, he has built a framework that will guide others to thrive in the next phase of life.  Remember - one's story does not end when the uniform comes off.
